In July 2008, I flew to New York City for a few days to visit the city for the first time and to attend a conference for work.

On Sunday, I visited Central Park with my friend Kathryn. We got lost and dodged rain storms but made it across the park to the Guggenheim Museum. After lunch in the cafeteria we explored the works of Louise Bourgeois and had fun 'interpreting' what they meant.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I was attending my conference but did sneak away on Tuesday night to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Everyone told me to try the pizza under the east end of the bridge but it was getting dark and I decided not to explore too far by myself.

It was a fun trip and I hope to return to New York City some time again soon.
