Between August 3rd and August 30th, I travelled around the world as part of my Trans-Siberian trip. Just over 25% of the 31,000 km distance was done by train.

Train Travel
I travelled about 8505 kilometres by train:
- St. Petersburg to Moscow: 650 km
- Trans-Siberian - Moscow to Irkutsk: 5185 km
- Trans-Mongolian - Irkutsk to Ulaanbaatar: 1119 km
- Trans-Mongolian - Ulaanbaatar to Beijing: 1551 km
For comparison, the distance from Moscow to Vladivostok (the 'true' Trans-Siberian route) is 9288 km.
[edit]
Air Travel
I travelled about 22,250 kilometres by air[1]:
- Toronto to St. Petersburg via Frankfurt: 8080 km
- Beijing to Vancouver via San Francisco: 10,820 km
- Vancouver to Toronto: 3350 km
For comparison, the circumference of the earth at the equator is about 40,000 km.
